A Business Visa is strictly given those who are doing business in India such as making sales or establishing contacts on behalf of a company outside of India. Business visas may be valid for one year or more with multiple entries. However, the period of stay in India (for each visit) under this category is limited to six months only. Please note the visa is valid beginning on the day it is issued. So, a 1 year visa issued on January 1 would be valid until December 31. Applicants going for employment in projects/contracts in India should apply for an Employment visa and not a Business visa.

Your India visa processing site depends on where in the United States you currently reside, also known as jurisdiction.

Please Prepare and Send in Following Items:

Application: Complete the online India Visa Application. After the application has been completed, you must print and sign the application.

Passport: Passport must have a minimum validity of six months from the date of application with at least two blank visa pages. Last 2 amendment pages are not acceptable. Must be the actual passport not a copy because your visa will be stamped in the actual passport.

US passport page 22, 23 and 24 are not visa pages and won't be acceptable for visas. If you need to add extra visa pages or renew US passport, please refer to the this link: http://www.visarite.com/passport.htm

Photographs: 2 latest identical passport size photographs (color photo) depicting front pose against light background on photographic paper.

Proof of Address: Applicants must submit a photocopy with proof of residence/address that matches the address on the visa application exactly. Photocopy of state issued ID (Driver License or ID), or major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Sewage) must be submitted.

The following items are not accepted: cell phone bill, credit card statement, bank statement or lease. The address cannot include a P.O. box.

For minors, a parent or guardian proof of address may be submitted instead.

Sponsor Letter From Organization in India: Include a letter from the sponsoring organization in India on company letterhead indicating the nature of applicant's business, probable duration of stay, the validity of visa applied for (1 Year, 5 Year or 10 Year), places and organizations to be visited.

Sponsor Letter From Parent Company in USA: Include a letter from the parent sponsoring organization in the United States on company letterhead indicating the nature of the applicant's business, probable duration of stay, validity of visa applied for (1 Year, 5 Year or 10 Year), places and organizations to be visited, and a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses. This letter must be original. Copy will be rejected.

US Advanced Technology Workers: (Skip this section, if you are not) Individuals working in designated U.S. agencies or technology areas (Conventional Munitions; Nuclear Technology; Missile/Missile Technology; Aircraft and Missile Propulsion and Vehicular Systems; Navigation and Guidance Control; Chemical and Biotechnology Engineering; Remote Imaging and Reconnaissance; Advanced Computer Material; Advance Composite Material; Information Security; Laser and Directed Energy Systems; Sensors; Marine Technology (submarines etc); Robotics; Advanced Ceramics; High Performance Metals and Alloys and or with establishment engaged in Defense, Research, Nuclear, Space and Missile Technology) are required to submit their application at least two weeks in advance to enable timely process of their cases. Additional Reference Fee of $20 will apply, if the applicants place of birth is not in the US. Return Shipping Fee listed is for return addresses within the continental U.S. If your return address is in Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, please include an additional $10.00 per order.

All Consular Fees and Service Fees are NONREFUNDABLE, even if a visa is denied or if a visa is issued for a shorter period of time or otherwise issued or returned at a time or on terms and conditions that vary from those sought by the applicant.

We accept money order, cashiers check, certified check, company check or cash. Please make check or money order payable to VisaRite Services Inc. You can write the total amount on one check or money order, no need to send separate checks or money order. Personal check is not acceptable.

You may also pay by credit card. If you select this option, please fill out and sign one credit card charge authorization form and enclose it in your application package.

REMARKS: To attend a conference/seminar/workshop being organized in India by a private company, a 3 month single entry business visa may be issued. To attend a conference/seminar/workshop being organized in India by any organization owned and controlled by the Government of India or State Government, UN or its specialized agencies and reputed NGOs, a 3 month single entry conference visa will be issued.

Other Requirement for persons or family of Indian origin and family member of a foreign national coming to India on long term visa. Skip these if you are not.

An Entry (X) visa is granted in the following circumstances:
Applicant is a person of Indian Origin
Applicant is a spouse or dependent child of a person of Indian origin.
Applicant is a spouse or dependent family member of a foreign national coming to India on long term visa such as Employment, Business, Research or Student. In such cases, the visa duration granted is co-terminus with the period of the principal visa holder.

A renunciation certificate must be obtained first from the New York Consulate directly before you can apply for an Entry visa. Please contact the New York Consulate directly to obtain the certificate.

Other Requirement for Non-US passport holders. Skip these if you are US passport holder.

Effective immediately, all visa applications must include a photocopy of the birth certificate. For Non-US born applicants that do not have their birth certificate, provide a copy of a document issued by Government authorities. This document could be an old (not current) passport or a school leaving certificate etc., provided it shows their personal particulars like name, date of birth, parents names, and nationality.

Green Card Holders: Applicants who are not Citizens of USA, but hold long term US visa or a Green Card should submit a copy of the visa or the Green Card. Do not send the original Permanent Residence Card/Green Card.

Short Term Visa Holders: Applicants who are not citizens/residents of the USA and hold a tourist or other short-term visa for the USA should normally apply for Indian visas in the country of their permanent residence. In case of emergency or special circumstance, an application could be made at the Indian Embassy in Washington DC or Consulates General of India in the USA. In addition to the relevant visa fee there is a reference fee of $20.00 for reference to be made to the country of their original residence. The processing time in such cases is usually 5-7 working days. (Non US Citizens - Short Term Visa Holders Only)

Persons of Indian Origin: Applicants born in India applying for the first time on ANY U.S. passport must submit their Indian passport and a completed renunciation form (http://indiavisa.travisaoutsourcing.com/pdf/renunciation.pdf) OR submit their expired US passport with a previously issued Indian visa if applicable. (United States Citizens Only)

Dual Citizenship: Applicants who have dual citizenship with the US and another country must apply on their US passport if living in the US.
