Indian Tourist Visa

  A Tourist Visa is given to those visiting India for tourism or other non-business related purposes. 5 year visas are available only to US citizens under a bilateral arrangement.  
  There should be a gap of at least 2 months between two separate visits to India on a Tourist Visa. For Tourist Visa holders who wish to visit India within 2 months of their last visit, an application for a Permit to Re-enter India is necessary. No Permit is needed if the visa holder is traveling to multiple countries on the same itinerary and the trip follows the itinerary exactly. The visa holder must carry a copy of the itinerary to show the Immigration Officer.  
  All non-US passport holders are only eligible for up to a Six (6) month Tourist visa.  
     
  Jurisdiction Applies  
  Your India visa processing site depends on where in the United States you currently reside, also known as jurisdiction.  
  We can help you only if you reside in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virgin Islands. Proof of residency, such as photocopy of driver's license is required.  
     
Please Prepare and Send in Following Items:  
 

 

 
1 Application: Complete the online India Visa Application. After the application has been completed, you must print and sign the application.  
     
2 Passport: Passport must have a minimum validity of six months from the date of application with at least two blank visa pages. Last 2 amendment pages are not acceptable. Must be the actual passport not a copy because your visa will be stamped in the actual passport.  
  US passport page 22, 23 and 24 are not visa pages and won't be acceptable for visas. If you need to add extra visa pages or renew US passport, please refer to the this link: http://www.visarite.com/passport.htm  
     
3 Photographs: Photographs: 2 latest identical passport size photographs (color photo) depicting front pose against light background on photographic paper.  
     
4 Proof of Address: Applicants must submit a photocopy with proof of residence/address that matches the address on the visa application exactly. Photocopy of state issued ID (Driver License or ID), or major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Sewage) must be submitted.
 
  The following items are not accepted: cell phone bill, credit card statement, bank statement or lease. The address cannot include a P.O. box.
 
  For minors, a parent or guardian proof of address may be submitted instead.

5 A photocopy of the birth certificate (for minors only). Please do not submit the original birth certificate.  
  For minors only (under 18), a photocopy of the birth certificate or any government issued document that shows parents name, date of birth and nationality. Depending on your nationality at birth, these are the documents that are accepted. Please do not submit original birth certificates. A birth certificate is no longer required for visas to India for adults (18+).
 
  Those not born in the US or India should submit a birth certificate or any government document from the country of origin that has parents name, date of birth and nationality. Must be translated into English and notarized.

Additional Reference Fee of $20 will apply, if the applicants place of birth is not in the US.
Return Shipping Fee listed is for return addresses within the continental U.S. If your return address is in Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, please include an additional $10.00 per order.
 
  All Consular Fees and Service Fees are NONREFUNDABLE, even if a visa is denied or if a visa is issued for a shorter period of time or otherwise issued or returned at a time or on terms and conditions that vary from those sought by the applicant.  
         We accept money order, cashiers check, certified check, company check or cash. Please make check or money order payable to VisaRite Services Inc. You can write the total amount on one check or money order, no need to send separate checks or money order. Personal check is not acceptable.

      You may also pay by credit card. If you select this option, please fill out and sign one credit card charge authorization form and enclose it in your application package.

I-1 Other Requirement for persons or family of Indian origin and family member of a foreign national coming to India on long term visa. Skip these if you are not.  
  An Entry (X) visa is granted in the following circumstances:
Applicant is a person of Indian Origin
Applicant is a spouse or dependent child of a person of Indian origin.
Applicant is a spouse or dependent family member of a foreign national coming to India on long term visa such as Employment, Business, Research or Student. In such cases, the visa duration granted is co-terminus with the period of the principal visa holder.
 
  A renunciation certificate must be obtained first from the New York Consulate directly before you can apply for an Entry visa. Please contact the New York Consulate directly to obtain the certificate.
 
     
     
  Other Requirement for Non-US passport holders. Skip these if you are US passport holder.  
  All non-US passport holders are only eligible for up to a Six (6) month Tourist visa.  
M-1 Effective immediately, all visa applications must include a photocopy of the birth certificate. For Non-US born applicants that do not have their birth certificate, provide a copy of a document issued by Government authorities. This document could be an old (not current) passport or a school leaving certificate etc., provided it shows their personal particulars like name, date of birth, parents names, and nationality.  
     
N-1 Green Card Holders: Applicants who are not Citizens of USA, but hold long term US visa or a Green Card should submit a copy of the visa or the Green Card. Do not send the original Permanent Residence Card/Green Card.  
     
N-2 Short Term Visa Holders: Applicants who are not citizens/residents of the USA and hold a tourist or other short-term visa for the USA should normally apply for Indian visas in the country of their permanent residence. In case of emergency or special circumstance, an application could be made at the Indian Embassy in Washington DC or Consulates General of India in the USA. In addition to the relevant visa fee there is a reference fee of $20.00 for reference to be made to the country of their original residence. The processing time in such cases is usually 5-7 working days. (Non US Citizens - Short Term Visa Holders Only)  
     
N-3 Special Pakistan Application: In addition to the requirements above, Special Visa application form (http://indiavisa.travisaoutsourcing.com/pdf/Pakistan.pdf) should be filled in by citizens of Pakistan (4 copies with 4 photos). (Pakistan Citizens Only)  
     
N-4 Special Bangladesh Application: In addition to the requirements above, Special Visa application form (http://indiavisa.travisaoutsourcing.com/pdf/Bangladesh.pdf) should be filled in by citizens of Bangladesh (2 copies with 2 photos). (Bangladesh Citizens Only)  
     
N-5 Persons of Indian Origin: Applicants born in India applying for the first time on ANY U.S. passport must submit their Indian passport and a completed renunciation form (http://indiavisa.travisaoutsourcing.com/pdf/renunciation.pdf) OR submit their expired US passport with a previously issued Indian visa if applicable. (United States Citizens Only)  
     
N-6 Dual Citizenship: Applicants who have dual citizenship with the US and another country must apply on their US passport if living in the US.
