1. Passport Renewal

Passports can only be renewed if following conditions are all met:

  • You can submit your most recent US passport.

  • You were at least 16 years old when your most recent passport was issued.

  • Your most recent passport was issued within the past 15 years.

  • Your most recent passport was issued in your current name. (OR, You had your name changed by marriage or court order and can submit proper documentation to reflect your name changes.)

  • Your passport is undamaged.

2. First-time US Passport Application

You need to follow new passport application procedure if:

  • You are applying for a US passport for the first time or

  • Your previous US passport has expired and was issued more than 15 years ago or

  • Your previous passport is not in your possession and would not be valid anyway or

  • Your previous passport is expired and was issued when you were under 16.

3. Child Passport

For applicants age 15 years & under.

4. Re-apply Passport due to Lost or Stolen

This process is for replacing a lost or stolen passport when the missing passport is still valid or was issued within 15 years.

5. Re-apply Passport due to Damage

A damaged passport is considered invalid. If your passport is ripped, torn, separated, washed or altered in any way, it needs to be replaced. This process is for replacing a damaged passport when the damaged passport is still valid.

6. Passport Name Change

If your legal name has changed, your passport should be updated.

7. Second Passport

You may apply for a second passport, If you are traveling between politically sensitive countries. The request of a second valid passport is for frequent travelers and is subject to approval by the US Department of State on an individual basis.
